Maciej Stępiński. Fotografik, malarz, autor filmów i instalacji. W 1999 dyplom na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie. W latach 2000-2002 studia w École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie w Arles. We Francji rozpoczal cykl antydokumentalnych, modyfikowanych cyfrowo zdjęć i filmów wideo podkreślający zdehumanizowaną infrastrukturę autostrad. Obecnie Stępiński fotografuje Warszawe. Seria 'W' to anonimowa architektura Powiśla i otaczajace je smieci (wystawa 'Backstage' w CSW Zamek Ujazdowski). Inna seria, to prace z pogranicza fotografii modyfikowanej i obrazow generowanych przez komputer ( 'Efekt Czerwonych oczu' w CSW w Warszawie oraz 'Out of memory' w formie duzych odbitek kolorowych na Berliner Liste ).

Ostatnie dwa projekty fotograficzne to 'Go with peace', ktory powstaje w Izraelu oraz ' Warsaw City Tennis Clubs', ktory jesienia pokaze Kordegarda. Niedawno ukazala sie ksiazka zatytulowana 'Loop' - z wyborem najwazniejszych praca artysty.

Od 2003 roku Stepinski prowadzi warsztaty fotograficzne i wideo we Francji m.in. podczas Festiwalu w Arles - Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie (2003) oraz przy współpracy z Muzeum Reattu w Arles. Wykłada techniki fotograficzne w ATEC we Francji, a także przedmiot ,,Fotografia w sztuce współczesnej" w Akademii Fotografii w Krakowie i Warszawie.

Maciek Stepinski - photographer, painter and video artist. 1999 graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. 2000-2002 studied at École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles / France. In France he initiated a series of digitally modified, non-documentary pictures and films that focus on a dehumanized nature of the infrastructure of roads and highways. Currently Stepinski makes films and takes pictures of Warsaw

Series “W” depicts an anonymous architecture of Powisle surrounded by trash and rubbish (exhibition “Backstage” in CSW Zamek Ujazdowski). Another series includes pictures that are partially digitally modified by computer itself. (“Red eye effect” in CSW Zamek Ujazdowski and “Out of memory” in large size-prints on Berliner Liste).

The last two projects include digital out of focus images entitled “Go with Peace”realised in Israel and new serie “Warsaw City Tennis Club” which will be exhibited this fall by Kardegarda. A recently published album “Loop” showcases a selection of works by the artist.

Since 2003, Stepinski has been organizing photo and video workshops in France, for example during the Festival in Arles Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie (2003) and also in cooperation with Reattu Musem in Arles. He is teaching photography in ATEC France and “Photography in contemporary Art” in the Akademia Fotografii in Cracow and Warsaw
